The Atlanta Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen was incorporated in Atlanta in August 1972. It is a volunteer, non-profit, 501©(3) organization, dedicated to maintaining the traditions and preserving the legacy of the first generation of African American military aviators during the Second World War.
Throughout our thirty-two year history, members of the organization have consistently maintained a record of providing inspiration, motivation, mentoring, role models for elementary, middle, and high school students. We average making presentations to twenty-five schools with an average of five hundred students. We estimate that we have made presentations to a half million students in the Metro Atlanta Area.
We also perform volunteer community service with aging programs and youth development programs. Our diverse membership includes members of several adults
generations, and we provide services for children of all ages, including child abuse prevention, mentoring, leadership instruction, Boy Scout Merit Badge Programs, Jr. ROTC, High School Career Days, Aviation Career Education Programs, and Fund Raising initiatives for college scholarship programs.
Our goal is to raise funding to develop a training facility to provide instruction for aviation and aerospace technologies in educationally under served communities. Next year we plan to expand the ACE Program and develop a feeder program for advance training at the proposed Tuskegee Airmen Regional Academy.
The Atlanta Chapter, Tuskegee Airmen Youth Development Program is a collaborative Initiative. We partner with other aviation, aerospace, technology organizations and youth leadership development programs.
